Edward Domantay-Bass
Ed Domantay grew up loving music. With his brothers and sisters he would wear out his dad’s jazz and 50’s records. Ee began his formal music training at the age of seven when his mother signed him up for lessons along with his brothers and sisters, in college music classes at Los Angeles City College. When his family moved to Eagle Rock, California Ed took up the bass to play in the Jr. High School Jazz Band. As a freshman he was then chosen to fill the bass chair in the nationally known and award winning Eagle Rock High School Jazz Band.
In four years Ed garnered many individual awards in jazz festivals across the nation including being chosen to perform with the Monterey Jazz Festival All-Star Big Band and winning the 1987 outstanding soloist award for upright bass at the Monterey Jazz Festival. He then gained more experience performing in several rock bands that played the L.A. Sunset Strip circuit and also playing jazz and fusion in both the Cal State North-Ridge and USC jazz programs.
In 1998 the Lord saved him and now he plays bass for a higher purpose.
